How to Create a Video Collage Online

A video collage places multiple video clips side by side in a single frame. This format is widely used for reaction videos (original content on one side, reaction on the other), before-and-after comparisons, multi-angle footage, and compilation content.

CreatorMedia Studio's Recaper and Video Editor tools support combining video clips into collage layouts without any desktop software.

Step-by-Step: Create a Video Collage

1

Open Video Editor

Navigate to Video Editor from the dashboard. The collage/combination feature is available in the layout settings panel.

2

Upload Your Video Clips

Upload the video clips you want to combine. You can use 2 or more clips. The preview panel will show how they will be arranged.

3

Choose a Layout

Select from available collage layouts — side by side (50/50 split), stacked (top/bottom), picture-in-picture, or custom proportions. Choose the layout that best suits your content.

4

Set the Output Aspect Ratio

Choose your target aspect ratio — 9:16 for vertical social content, 16:9 for YouTube and desktop, or 1:1 for Instagram. The clips will be automatically resized and cropped to fit.

5

Adjust Border and Background

Add a border between clips or choose a background color for any empty space. Black backgrounds are standard, but white or colored borders can add visual style.

6

Process and Download

Click Process. The clips are combined server-side using FFmpeg. Download the output when complete — it is a standard MP4 file ready for upload.

💡 Tip: For reaction content, make sure your reaction clip (or the more important clip) takes up the larger portion of the frame. Viewers' eyes naturally go to the larger element first.
